Chamber Elections 2026

To be eligible for nomination, an individual must:

• Be the designated voting member of the business or organization they represent.
• Be a member in good standing, with their 2026 Chamber membership paid in full.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Not have the status of bankrupt.

Yes. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can put your own name forward for consideration.

Yes. You may nominate another eligible Chamber member. The nominee must meet all eligibility requirements and will be required to complete the Board of Directors Application Package to continue through the nomination process.

The Board of Directors provides leadership and oversight for the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce. Directors help guide the organization, contribute to its strategic direction and priorities, and make decisions in the best interests of the Chamber and its membership.

Directors also bring their experience and perspectives to discussions about the Chamber and the business community it represents.

Board members are expected to actively participate in the governance and direction of the Chamber, attend Board meetings and events, contribute to discussions and decisions, and act in the best interests of the organization.

Directors must also disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest as soon as they become aware of it.

Directors are elected for a two-year term. A Director may be re-elected for up to three consecutive terms, for a maximum of six consecutive years, followed by a one-year cooling-off period before becoming eligible for re-election.

Yes. Regular participation is an important part of serving on the Board.

No. A member who is an elected Member of Parliament, Member of Provincial Parliament or municipal councillor may not serve as a Director. If a current Director is elected to one of these positions, they must immediately leave their position as a Director.

Once nominations close, nominees will be reviewed through the Chamber's nomination process to ensure eligibility. Approved nominees will receive a Board of Directors Application Package, which must be completed and returned by Friday, October 30, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
