About NEAR NORTH PALLIATIVE CARE NETWORK

The Near North Palliative Care Network is the Nipissing & Parry Sound visiting hospice, providing a variety of free community services and programs as a registered charity. This includes palliative care services: care-giving respite, client advocacy, advance care planning, friendly visits & calls, and regular client check-ins. This includes bereavement services: 1-on-1 grief sessions, group sessions, virtual care, child grief programming, anticipatory grief counseling, and disenfranchised grief education. The NNPCN's catchment area stretches somewhat beyond the Nipissing- Parry Sound region, with a duty to serve any clients who cannot be served otherwise. As an organization, the core mission which the NNPCN works to fulfill is to enhance the comfort, dignity, and quality of life of individuals with a terminal illness, and to offer bereavement support throughout the community. We support a decentralized model of care-giving, going to where the client is to serve them in the hope that every resident of Northeastern Ontario can experience their end-of-life with dignity and comfort, and with physical, psychological, social, and spiritual support provided to them wherever they may be living.
