About THE BLOCK PUBLIC HOUSE
The Block Public House is proudly located in a historic building on Main St. in North Bay, Ontario. It was built in 1911 and originally housed the city's first hardware store. Cochrane Dunlop Hardware was known as the business that helped build the city. The building housed several businesses over the years but a devastating fire in 2012 caused the doors to close. In 2023, after much restoration and renovation, "The Cochrane Block" building at 122 Main St. West North Bay, re-opened its doors as the city's newest Gastro Pub, The Block Public House.
