About the Young Professionals

The North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce created the Young Professional Membership in order to connect with young business people in the community. We recognize that 2% of small and medium enterprise business owners are under the age of 30. We also recognize the important role that future business leaders play in the community, and would like to help you achieve your goals.

The Young Professional Membership program is an affordable way for young business-oriented people to participate in the Chamber of Commerce. YP members receive all the benefits that a regular member receives, but at a fraction of the cost. This is because we value what you have to say. We recognize that you are an important part of the business community in the North Bay Area, and we, as a Chamber, cannot be the voice of business unless we are speaking on behalf of all businesses.

If you are under 30 years of age, and would like to join the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce as a Young Professional, please complete the YP Membership Application and return by email or by fax: 705-472-8027; visit us at 205 Main Street East, North Bay; give us a call at 705-472-8480; or submit an online application. The cost of a YP membership is only $55.00 + HST.

Here’s what one of our YP members had to say:

“I was interested in getting involved with the Young Professionals because it presented me with the opportunity to grow. My main focus was to be part of an initiative to help my community at the same time as helping my generation. The Young Professionals (YP) membership allows for many students and young entrepreneurs to stay in the area because they have better access to a strong business network.

As a student, I was looking forward to using my education in the field and considering my career options when I was presented with a YP membership. I saw the value in the lower cost for me to be able to network with the organizations and businesses in North Bay on a different level than before. I was able to learn about companies that I would be interested in working with and interview them while they could interview me.

Besides finding a career, I enjoy meeting with other Professionals to learn about new companies, people, and events within the community. I feel that I have grown a great deal with much due to the YP membership.” – Darren Patey, VS Group

Congratulations!

Our Young Professional Membership Program was ranked one of the top two programs in Canada by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce at their recent AGM in Gatineau, QC! Congratulations to the Young Professional Committee, sponsors and members for all their hard work in making this program worthy of national recognition.

If you are under the age of 30, and are not a Chamber member, then it’s time to join the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals. For more information, call Patti in the Chamber office, 705.472.8480, or send her an email at patricia@nbdcc.ca
