The Boards of Directors of the Mattawa Hospital and the Algonquin Nursing Home are pleased to announce that Mr. Jérémy Stevenson will be appointed as the new President & CEO of the Mattawa Hospital and Administrator of the Algonquin Nursing Home starting on March 23, 2015. The Board of Directors of both organizations have arrived at this unanimous decision following an extensive search process.
Mr. Stevenson holds a Master of Health Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Ottawa, as well as an Administrator Certificate in Long Term Care from the Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors. He is a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) & the American College of Health Executives (ACHE).
Jérémy has held numerous positions in the Ontario Health sector, most recently as the Chief Operating Officer of the St-Francis Memorial Hospital (SFMH) in Barry’s Bay. Prior to that, he was respectively Senior Planner with the Champlain Local Health Integration Network and Executive Planning Advisor & Assistant to the President and CEO at the Hôpital Montfort in Ottawa.
He was recently appointed to the Ontario Hospital Association’s (OHA) Small, Rural and Northern Hospitals Provincial Leadership Council. In 2012, he was awarded the OHA Small, Rural and Northern Healthcare Excellence Award in recognition of SFMH’s innovative leadership in collaborating and establishing partnerships to expand and improve health services in the Madawaska Valley.
Jérémy is fluently bilingual. He is the proud father of four and he intends to raise his family in the community of Mattawa. He is very involved and visible in his community where he volunteers as a Church Leader for Renfrew County, coaches and runs sports leagues, and stays involved with the University of Ottawa MHA program and the OHA Leadership committees.

Mattawa Hospital is a French Language Services designated 19-bed facility with an emergency, offering as well, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, physiotherapy and mental health & addiction services. Algonquin Nursing Home is also designated to offer French Language Services and serves 73 residents. Both facilities are accredited with distinction by Accreditation Canada and are part of the family of organizations sponsored by the Catholic Health Corporation of Ontario.
