The Special Events Committee of the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to organize an event welcoming our new North Bay Battalion OHL hockey team to a dinner and meet & greet for fans.

The Chamber is hosting a dinner on Wednesday, October 9th, 2013 at the Davedi Club.

Fans can purchase tickets to have dinner with the Battalion team.

The team is practicing until 6 pm and will be announced as they arrive around 7 pm. Fans are asked to arrive at 6:15 pm to allow time for dinner prior to the team arrival. A mix and mingle with the players will follow a few short speeches.

We encourage fans to bring their favourite hat, shirt or other souvenirs if they would like players’ autographs.

President Derek Shogren stated: “It is great to have OHL hockey back and we look forward to the first home opener on the 11th.”

It has been over 10 years for OHL hockey here in North Bay and with the new renovations at the Gardens, fans will be viewing the high caliber of hockey that the OHL has earned over the past several years.

The Chamber Special Events Committee recognized that “it is not only important for the fans to support the team at each game, but also have the opportunity to meet the players and team staff and welcome them to the community,” reported Shogren.

Chair of the committee, Sue Ray remarked: “The tickets are affordable and help cover the cost of the dinner but we only have so much room to accommodate the fans and the team, so we encourage everyone to get their tickets early as we don’t expect there will be any tickets available at the door that night.”

We are certain that there will be many more opportunities throughout the season for the public to meet team members.

Special thanks to Battalion staff for assisting with the opportunity for fans to meet the players.“We truly wanted the coaches and players to know that we are very supportive of the North Bay Battalion organization and we wanted to create a bit of hype leading up to their home game opener two days later,” stated Ray.

Tickets are on sale at the Chamber office only.

Adults $20 and children 12 and under are $10.

The Chamber office at the Information Centre, 1375 Seymour Street, is open 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday; 10 am to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday. Or you can call and reserve your tickets with a credit card, by calling 705-472-8480.
